3 Days Lahu Hilltribe Home Stay At Doi Pu Muen

DAY (1): CHIANGMAI – ANGKHANG – FANG (-/L/D)

08:30 hrs.

Head toward the Northern route of Chiang Mai to Fang district.

09:00 hrs.

Stop at the Orchids & Butterflies Farm on the way where more than fifty differentvarieties of gorgeous orchid blooms in a dazzling array of colors.

10:00 hrs.

Continue driving along a steep winding road to Doi Angkhang Royal Agricultural Project.

12:00 hrs.

Lunch at restaurant.

13:00 hrs.

Visit Agricultural Research Station that has been established since 2512 by His Majesty the King for research to promote hill tribe form opium plantation and stop deforestation. You will able to see a vast array of indigenous and foreign plants including apricots, peaches, plums, carrots, salad greens and beautiful flowers such as canations, roses, astersandchrysanthe mums and also Bonsia garden with its large collection of tropical and temperate climates. There are hill tribes in the area, including the Lahu Palong, Yunnanese and Shan.

15:00 hrs.

Drive down hill to Fang and check in at Phumanee Lahu Home Hotel. Spend and entire afternoon to cycle around visiting local temples and community.

18:30 hrs.

Dinner and overnight at the hotel.

DAY (2): FANG – TREK TO DOI PU MUEN (LAHU VILLAGE) (B/L/D)

06:00 hrs.

Leave from the hotel to visit a morning local market in Fang town. Explore around the fresh market to buy some ready cooked food, fruits, drinks and flowers as an alms offering.

07:00 hrs.

Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer by a local pick – up truck to the trek point.

08:00 hrs.

Start trekking up and down hill about 3-4 hours passing distinctive landscapes through and unspoiled & breathtaking forest, beautiful fields with tall green grasses & flowers particularly fabulous scenery when you reach the higher levels of the mountain.

12:00 hrs.

Picnic lunch will be serving during the jungle trek.

13:00 hrs.

Arrive Doi Pu Muen. Met and warm welcomed by the host. Get around seeing the village of Lahu, the Christian Tribe who mainly grows tea and coffee as their cash crops. Visit tea plantations and have fun learning how to pick tea leaves like a local, as well as heat and dry the tea leaves also taste some good tea from Lahu people.

17:00 hrs.

Free at leisure or probably prepare your stuff or join preparing dinner with your host.

18:00 hrs.

Enjoy tasting local food at home stay.

19:00 hrs.

After dinner, joyous with a tradition Lahu dance and show.

20:00 hrs.

Overnight at Lahu home stay (basic wooden local house).

DAY (3): DOI PU MUEN(LAHU VILLAGE) – FANG – CHIANG MAI (B/L/D)

08:00 hrs.

Have a simple breakfast at home stay. Join making and tasting “Khao Puk”, a sticky rice bun. a traditional Lahu’s bun cooked for special occasions and festivals. Spend more time to explore around the village to see typical lifestyle of Lahu people as well as their daily routine.

11:00 hrs.

Farewell to your host before leaving the village and drive down hill to Pu Muen Waterfall.

11:30 hrs.

Shortly walk for 15 minutes down to a scenic fresh fall.

12:30 hrs.

Enjoy Bamboo lunch cooked by the local guide.

13:30 hrs.

Transfer Back to Phumanee by truck and then minivan back to Chiang Mai.

18:00 hrs.

Arrive and transfer to your hotel.
